Senior Session FAQs

Senior portrait photoMany of my friends came to you. Will my pictures look the same?

That depends. Do you want to do some of the same poses they did or something totally different? When  you arrive for your session, you will sit down with Tammy, our wardrobe and posing department and preview some sample poses from past clients. That will help us once again be sure we are capturing who you are. You will see conservative, fashionable, sporty and other types of poses. Adding those choices to what you tell us you want will help us create as many unique poses as we can.  If you choose poses that your friends did and want that also, then yes some of your poses will look similar but we will add some of YOUR personality to the picture to make it different.

How will my session be different?

First of all be sure to bring your MP3 Player or Iphone/Ipod device so that we can listen to your music (after all we are getting tired of our own playlist). Second of all every senior brings their own personality and pit crew (friends & family) with them. This allows us all to have fun during the session because a different conversation comes up during every session. We want you to feel like a friend and not just a client. So bring your TUNES, and any props that show your accomplishments and who you are.

If I come for a FREE consultation, am I commited to being photographed by you?

Absolutely not. The consultation is an opportunity for you to check us out and for us to get to know you. We will show you samples of our products and past clients, help you decide what your wants and needs really are and what your investment MIGHT be. The majority of people who visit us do schedule a portait session because they like what we can do for them. But the decision is entirely up to you.

Also, LightWriter Photography is a low volume studio. This means that by doing only a few sessions a day as compared to 10 or more, we are able to give you 100% of our energy allowing us to spend quality time with each of our clients.

Sounds awesome, but you must be expensive.

It is not about WHAT you pay but rather what you GET for what you pay. Today, EVERYONE has a camera and thinks they are a photographer so you can always find a cheaper alternative. But owning an Electric Guitar does not make you the next Jimi Hendrix. And owning a Digital camera does not mean you understand how to create flattering poses and how to work with light.

What kind of packages do you offer?

Our experience shows that packages do not fill everyone’s needs. So we allow you to custom design your own package and invest in what you want and need.

Do you offer images on CD?

Our first response is that we are not a “SHOOT and BURN” Studio. We believe in full service that continues beyond the sale. By giving you a cd of all your images, you are responsible for what happens to them after that. Our second response to this is “What are you really asking for?”  Are you wanting the ability to show off your favorite images on facebook to all your friends and family or are you wanting the ability to print the images yourself? So, YES! you get a Facebook file of every image that a print was ordered from AND YES! you can purchase Hi-Rez digital files of images after a minimum order has been reached. In the long run though, it will cost you less to have our professional lab create your prints than it would if you purchased the digital file then had WalMart or another Chain Store create your print. Not to mention that our Monitors are calibrated with what our lab prints out. We can not guarantee what you get from another lab.

Another alternative  is to purchase a DVD Slideshow that allows you to view your images in a video like format with great music in the background. This is not a printable disk of images.

How about clothing changes? And how many images do you take.

When you book a session, you area hiring us for a certain amount of time and given a certain quantity of outfits.  This will give you more time in front of the camera and less wasted time changing. You will still get a diverse amount of images without being overwhelmed with poses that look the same.

If I go On-Location and it rains do I have to pay extra to reschedule?

Definately not. It is not YOUR fault that it rained on your portrait day.  We can still do the Studio session and reschedule the Location session for another day.

Can I bring a friend?

YES! Bring along anyone that you are comfortable posing in front of. We also ask that you have your mom present as well to be sure we get a few poses that her and grandma will enjoy.

How do I proof my images and how long does it take for my order to come in?

After your portrait session ends we will schedule an In-Studio Order Session to take place the following week. We ask that ALL decision makers be present. You have already seen your images on our TV and liked what you saw. After we retouch the images and Preview them to you via Projection on our wall, you will LOVE them. At this time you will place your order and be sure half of the total order amount is paid so that we can send the order to our lab. Within 2 weeks your order will be ready for pickup.

OK, I am in. What do I do now?

Call us at 337-988-0303 and schedule your FREE consultation. Please have a parent or other decision maker with you.  To book your session, we will ask for a retainer that goes towards your order. Then get your clothes, music, and props together and get ready for an exciting Senior Portrait Session.
